A reader in Manila wrote to share some news. A coalition of Philippine ministries has set new national church planting goals: a church in each of the 20,000 barangays that currently lack one, growing the total from 100,000 to 300,000 churches and the number of Bible Christians from 14 million to 30 million — by the end of 2033.
As part of their planning process, the reader shared a recent presentation of mine with the group. One of the pastors involved in tracking Philippine church data watched it and created the two charts below, applying the global trends to the Philippine context.
I thought these were worth sharing. It’s one thing to talk about global trends in the abstract; it’s another to see a local team pick them up and ask what they mean for their own country.
