In 10 years
Asking the question “what might change in the next ten years” is useful. There’s an interesting example here: Toyota is apparently moving on “solid state” batteries, which they claim can do 900+ miles on a single charge, and can power to full charge in 10 minutes. These are not lithium-ion batteries, but a different tech. If this tech is successful, this would clearly introduce a sea change in the workability of electric vehicles (PC Magazine). The process described in the article would take perhaps as long as ten years, but it would transform a lot of markets and economies as it does.
What are some other things that might change in ten years? Here’s the first ten off a list of 100 that I’ve been keeping in a notepad:
- Quantum Computing
- Neural Interface Technologies
- Advanced CRISPR & Genetic Engineering
- Decentralized Finance (DeFi)
- Solid-State Batteries (the above is an example)
- Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)
- Biodegradable Plastics
- Liquid Air Energy Storage
- Augmented Reality (AR) Integration (watch Apple Vision next year)
- Virtual Reality (VR) Evolution
Roundup
What happened to the unreached this week?
Each Friday I send a newsletter to over 2,400 mission activists, advocates, managers, field workers, and pastors - about what happened among the unreached, and what could happen next. Each issue comes with a curated list of nearly 100 links, and note why each is important. You can get on the list for free.
