What is the role of Westerners
The center of gravity for the Christian world has been shifting from the West to Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Rapidly multiplying movements are exponentially growing throughout these same regions, increasing the speed of these shifts.
A key question for Westerners to ask for the future is: how do we become more brothers and sisters, and less ‘partners,’ to these believers?
How do more true serving and less servant-leadership (which often works out to be leadership-by-another-name)?
How can we do less risk-outsourcing (e.g. ‘hire nationals’) while still doing share-the-load (which often means putting resources, like time, attention, and money, into these movements)?
How can we truly put ourselves at the end of the table, not as a sort of virtue signal or I’m-waiting-for-you-to-invite-me-further-up but as a real, honest, put-ourselves-at-the-end?
How can we not think of ourselves as Pauls, but rather as Paul-finders?
Figuring out to the answer to these and similar questions is essential.
